I’m leaving. Everything. Behind.

Today I started triage, which is basically throwing shit away so as to not pack anything I don’t need. And looking at it all. It hit me and I sorta panicked a little.

Well I wanted to run away with the Circus. What’s the lesson here kiddies? Be careful what you wish for.

Watch this video that brilliantly explains how all art forms have to go through a sexual revolution to grow as a medium. It’s some serious stuff explained to you with a cartoon and yet it all makes perfect sense.

Fringe Preview

May 24, 2008 DAVE ID 8 comments

I lifted the synopsis from Wikipedia because I didn’t feel like rewritting it myself:

Fringe is the fourth TV Series co-created by J. J. Abrams (Felicity, Alias, Lost) and also his fourth collaboration with co-creators Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Alias, Mission Impossible III, Star Trek). It is produced by Warner Bros./Bad Robot, and deals with a research scientist named Walter Bishop (who Orci describes as “Frankenstein mixed with Albert Einstein”), his son, and a female FBI agent who brings them back together. The show is being described as a cross between The X-Files, Altered States and The Twilight Zone. Like Abrams’ previous TV shows, it will have an overarching mythology. A two-hour, $10,000,000 pilot is being produced, where Walter is in a mental hospital. Jeff Pinkner will serve as executive producer/showrunner. The Fringe series premiere is scheduled for August 26, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. ET

J.J. Abrams, cross between X-Files, Altered States, Twilight Zone… Count me in.

New Canon Digital Rebel XSi Commercial

May 23, 2008 DAVE ID 5 comments

This commercial was made with 70 000 (yes thats seventy thousand) different pictures from 10 different photographers that photographed the same event from different angles. They kind of cheated though, they used EOS-1D Mark III models to shoot the pictures. But the end result is still fantastic. Though I have the XTi I now want the upgrade.

A side by side comparison of the trailers for “There Will Be Bud” by the Benver Droncos and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “There Will Be Blood.”

And just for good measure, the original trailers to one of the best movies of all time:
