Going for 2 weeks, first stop is Des Moines Iowa. What the hell is in Des Moines? I have no clue. But I’ll be busy training the new guy who will be replacing me on Saltimbanco before I leave for Kooza. The arena of the week is the Wells Fargo Arena which seems to be country heaven since the Google Maps picture is some dude in a cowboy hat. I’ll be crashing at the Renaissance Savery, it’s Marriott, which is usually good stuff.

Hey, Des Moines is not “country”. We are a city of about 1/2 million and there is a lot of growth happening right now. More housing being built in the downtown area. Many people working to revive downtown events.
We have a symphony, jazz is very popular in the state, and many other arts alive and well here.
It’s a great place to raise children with many community and school activities. And people think a 15 commute in Des Moines is a bad day.
I hope you’ll find the people welcoming here and that the show does well.
Des Moines was a great place (but quiet)I just didnt have much time to visit. The area around the Dos Rios restaurant was awesome. Very nice.
