The Happening Trailer
The Happening . Directed by M. Night Shyamalan. With Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel. To Be Released Friday the 13th in the Month of June of 2008

I saw another preview than this one at the movies last night. It was nerve wracking and gave me goose bumps. I thought M. Night Shyamalan had drained his brain of good ideas but this one seems completly out there. I just hope it’s not another The Village (with a plot-twist ending so predictable it was a miracle I finished the move) or the silly Lady in the Water. Please Mr Shyamalan don’t be a one trick pony…

I thought ‘The Village’ was way better than ‘Signs’ and ‘The Sixth Sense’. It was much more intelligent and had far more depth. It actually said something.
As for predictability, I knew as soon as it was revealed in ‘Signs’ that Mel Gibson was an ex-minister, that he would recover his faith by the end of the movie. That was about five minutes into the movie, I think. Besides, it was just plain silly.
Didn’t everyone know the shrink was dead in ‘The Sixth Sense’?
The twist ending does seem to be Shyamalan’s signature. You could criticize him for being a one trick pony, I suppose, but I have to admit I’m curious to know what this next movie is going to be about. I’m sure a lot of other people are, too. A good trailer doesn’t tell you too much – just enough to want to see the movie. In that sense, he’s very good at making marketable movies. Let’s just hope this one isn’t a dud.
If you’re interested in more of what I thought of ‘The Village’, I wrote a post about it a couple weeks ago:

I like the sixth sense, although i already knew the ending(thanks to someone that revealed it). I enjoyed unbreakable, i don’t know why alot of people say otherwise. Signs was alright. As for the village, i knew the twist before the movie even came out, i read the summary somewhere online and i instantly knew the twist would be that they were in the present when i read the setting was in the 16th century( i’m telling the honest truth). When i went to watch it with someone, i told them i knew how it will end but i didn’t reveal. when the movie did end, i was like, i knew it will end this way. Beside the obvious twist, i liked it. The soundtrack was good, and the pace of the movie was great. It was overall a pretty good movie. As for “the happening”( first of all thanks for posting it, i’ve haven’t seen the trailer till now), looks good. i will definitely check it out when it comes out in the theater.
I loved Unbreakable. I thought it was great.
The preview I saw at the theater was even more awesome. I definitely want to see this movie.
I’m still a sucker for all of his movies – in my head, he can do no wrong so yes, I’m stoked
