Quirks Meme

The rules:

  • Link to the person that tagged you.
  • Post the rules on your blog.
  • Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
  • Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
  • Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Just for pedantic reasons, MEME is pronouced like CREAM, not like the French word MÊME. So here are my “quirks”

  1. I rub my shaved head all the time when I’m thinking.
  2. When I’m lost in thought I tug at my goatee.
  3. I’m so addicted to energy drinks I call it AC (Alternate Caffeination ©) if I go to long without them, I go into withdrawal and serious insomnia which only a Rockstar will fix. I love my caffeine.
  4. When debugging network or computer issues I talk to the computer like it’s a person because it seems to me like the systems have “behaviours”. Underlying fears of Skynet haunt me
  5. I can’t stand people making mouth noises; loud chewing, sucking air through teeth, gum chewing, etc. Drives me up the fucking wall.
  6. I find myself using the word AWESOME too much which annoys me but I love using the word FUCK which I can’t use as much as I’d love to cuz people are to fucking sensitive.

Ephemeras

When traveling, take a look at the weather channel before leaving, it may be -20 Centigrade in Montreal, but it may be 12 degrees centigrade in Cleveland, damn that winter coat was warm

I learned that rivers in Cleveland have the nasty habit of catching on fire.

When traveling and working on setting up the networks for the Cirque du Soleil, I rarely have time to read my RSS feeds, which means I have more than 600 unread articles when I get back. I can never get to them all, so no one feel left out please.

Having catering stash some Rockstar energy drinks for your trip is the ultimate treat.

How Americans are still alive is a fucking miracle. Seriously, I have yet to find a place that serves burgers that are below half-pounders. That’s fucking insane. Have breakfast, I think even the toasts are fucking fried. I’m a big man and I still can’t eat like that.

If you don’t buckle up in the plane, nothing happens

But don’t forget anything on you when going through the metal detector, which slows down the whole process for everyone. One little electronic ID card and everything grinds to a halt.

There’s no point in scanning the TV for RDI in Cleveland

I was so happy to get back in Canada and crank up my PVR and watch Rick Mercer Report. The “It’s like driving in Montreal” joke made my week.

Back to back to back to back episodes of Robotech… I love my PVR.

The Air That I Breathe…

Lead Investigator David, HSI (Hotel Scene Investigator) reporting from room 1121 at Embassy Suites Hotels situated at 1701 East 12th Street in Cleveland Ohio. What has been found with little instrumentation leads this investigator to believe that very little cleaning has been done in the bathroom of suite 1121.

As you can witness with the first two photographic evidence exhibits, where the corners of the floors are sullied with dirt, pubic hairs and greyed with dust. (Click to Enlarge)

Upon further investigation of the scene we found upon the shower head evidence of red fungi which can spread at rapid rates when left unsprayed with simple cleaning products. You can notice here in the picture, the red ring. This is the fungi of which I am speaking of. (Click to Enlarge)

In the end we found most disturbing the state of the vent which was a danger for human breathing. Simply take a look at the following image and judge for yourself. This is the air that we breathe. (Click to Enlarge)

All HSI jokes aside, this is what disgusts me the most is how the bathrooms in hotels are so badly cleaned. I’m just glad I don’t have thos black-light gadgets those CSI investigators have because I would look at the carpets and the bedding and would probably never sleep in a hotel ever again.

And just to freak you out even more, if you haven’t seen it yet, I bring you Hotel Glass Cleaning 101:

David Rocks Cleveland…ok not so much…

There are always things that boggle the mind. Why in the hell do I need to go from Montreal, all the way to Chicago and then back to Cleveland by plane? I gather it’s probably a booking thing, available seats and the almighty buck but that’s just weird.

But I don’t mind really, I’ll get to have a little look-see at Chicago’s airport and I’m just a big geek and just seeing it will be cool enough for me.

On Monday I’ll be in Cleveland for another Saltimbanco show setup at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University and camping out at Embassy Suites Hotel Cleveland-Downtown. Click on the picture to see the Map on Google Maps.

After which the show goes dark for two weeks which means I’ll be able to catch up on some Zees because the first few weeks of this new gig have been exhausting. Hopefully I’ll be a better oiled machine after a while. This jumping on planes every week when you’ve never traveled before takes getting used to.

Heath Ledger…

Well if you don’t know by now, Ledger has died. How he died seems like another tragedy. Seems like the ones with talent always go while the stench of shit lingers. I can only hope, as a fan of Ledger and a Geek, that The Dark Knight is masterpiece befitting of a homily to Heath and that it will be his going out with a bang.
