Prosecutor won’t bring charges in MySpace suicide - CNN.com
“There is no way that anybody could know that talking to someone or saying that you’re mean to your friends on the Internet would create a substantial risk,” Banas said. “It certainly created a potential risk and, unfortunately for the Meiers, that potential became reality. But under the law we just couldn’t show that.”
Well that’s that. The bullies win again. Why is it that it’s always the fucking rodents that dominate the dialog, contain the issues and get away with murder? Once again the weak are used to strengthen the power mad and are made to pay the heaviest price and those beasts get away without a scratch. If there were a good ‘ol town lynching with pitch forks and torches I wouldn’t feel anything but some sort of satisfaction.

I suppose when the State Prosecutor’s kid or grandkid ends up killing themselves over a cyber bully-
THEN HE”LL FINALLY BE A MAN AND FIND A WAY TO PROSECUTE THE CRIMINALS.

THANK YOU MY SPACE bitches,
for ruining another life,
and giving the GOVERNMENT
another REASON
to take away my RIGHTS as an WORLD TEACHER, a young woman, and a AMERICAN!!!!!!!!! .
I cannot believe they won’t do anything!!!! That girl is dead, damn it!
When I was young, I used to be bullied a lot, and rejected, and it brought me to the same exact point. I missed my shot, as you can see, but still, I wanted to die because I was being bullied.
I cannot understand why nowadays, they won’t do anything…Really. What sad world we live in…:-(
Yup! Indeed. No Justice for the preyed upon. Only the predators get to live free and happy.
The sad part is that this bitch is laying all the blame on the “temp” employee. The temp set up the page, the temp managed the page, the temp and Drew’s daughter did the comments, etc. This low life piece of trash laid all the blame on the temp and her daughter and completely denies everything. With no proof to back it up (yeah right, the bitch admitted her part in the whole thing in that damn police report), I guess the gutless wonder, er I mean prosecutor doesn’t have to do his job. This poor child was preyed upon my an online predator (Lori Drew). How do they figure predators are above the law? She said she set up this account, this identity, to gain Megan’s trust. Isn’t that what a predator does?
Unfortunately, bullying is as American as apple pie. One need only look at how America treats the rest of the world.
That said, this Lori Drew person is a piece of amoral scum. Let’s hope she gets a taste of her own medicine—for the rest of her pathetic life.
Bully her to the grave!
While the Megan Meier case seems outrageous and unique, it isn’t unique. Hundreds of cases of egregious and heinous acts go on every day with the same excuses out of our lawmakers.
One such other case….The case of Nikki Catsouras, is a classic example of disgusting, hateful activity against innocent victims, while our lawmakers excuse themselves from enacting laws to prevent this.
The excuse lawmakers use to let themselves off the hook stem from the growth of the Internet and how fast it’s changing. This is a sham.
Chat rooms, message boards, instant messengers and email have been in existence for far over a decade now. While the software used to transmit messages changes slightly, the basic essence of using the Internet to send a message is largely the same. Is a decade or two long enough to establish some basic decency laws in regards to Internet usage?
I’ve posted the Nikki Catsouras story along with many details about the Megan Meier case so the inactivity out of our lawmakers towards these types of cases can be clearly seen.
Those who are interested in learning about cases like Megan’s and Nikki’s case are encouraged to drop by and comment on them if you like. I have a couple of polls set up as well. Danny Vice would like to hear your point of view.
Public awareness of the problem and discussions about possible solutions are the best way to pressure elected officials into action instead of excuse making.
I invite you to come by and share your opinion.
