New, Full Length Golden Compass Trailer! « FirstShowing.net

By now you’ve heard about The Golden Compass, but are you excited to see it? This new, full length 3 minute trailer is long, epic, and exciting. It’s obvious New Line is going 100% all-out, sparing no expense, hoping this will be the next Lord of the Rings. Like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter before it, The Golden Compass has a fairly strong fan base that will drive its hype more and more leading up to it. What it will all come down to is if the film delivers as much as enjoyment the trailer does. Can filmmaker Chris Weitz pull it off? CLICK HERE TO SEE IT

I dunno about you but I’m hyped, hyped I tell you. Sean Fucking Connery as a Polar Bear, can’t beat that. And the irony of Daniel Craig in the same movie isn’t to shabby either.

EDIT: Oh crap, after relistenning, over and over again…. it’s not Connery, it’s  Ian McKellen, even better. How did I mix up the two?

I kinda get tired of the protagonist being a child. Harry was exhaustively annoying and now a little girl as the savior of the “world”? I guess if someone was going to need directions it would be a girl because guy’s never get lost (denial here is key).

The only reason why I’ll go watch it is because it has a talking ferret.

The only thing that struck me as odd during the trailer was how fast that polar bear moved to grab the flying projectile.

If there is a bear in that movie that fights with a katana and wears a mask I’m walking out.

The fast bear bear… not the talking like Sean Connery part? LOL :D

With enough drugs you can probably experience talking animals…There aren’t enough drugs in the world to make a bear jump over a 4 foot tall kid and catch a projectile however.

It’s all logic, like common man ! :)

How do the bears tie the belts and the cords for their armor if they don’t have opposable thumbs?

Dude in this story, maybe they, maybe the armor buckles itself, its all magical.

I tell you. I am excited about this film and it looks like Nicole Kidman will be in a good film for the first time in years. So maybe she will get an Academy Award nomination out of this one.

Yes, because she’s not the headliner. The CGI bears will be better actors that she will. Just like CGI Yoda out acted everyone in Episode 3.

I thought Nicole Kidman was CGI’d in that movie as well… Guess it’s all the plastic in her face these days ;)
